Launch guide

The digital product launch checklist.

A successful launch is not about perfection. It is about removing friction so buying is easier than leaving the page. Work through this once, top to bottom.

Step 1

Business foundation

The boring layer. It takes one afternoon and it never blocks you again.

  • Choose the name you sell under
  • Buy the domain that matches it
  • Create an email address on your own domain
  • Register the business if your country requires it
  • Open a separate bank account for the business

Step 2

Legal and tax

The part most first launches skip, and the part that causes refunds and disputes later.

  • Publish terms of service and link them at checkout
  • Publish a privacy policy that says what you collect
  • State a refund window in plain words
  • Add a cookie consent banner if you run ads in the EU
  • Turn on tax collection and confirm your rates
  • Put your legal name, address and VAT number on invoices
  • State what a buyer may and may not do with the file

Step 3

Product

Ship something finished, not something perfect.

  • Lock the product name
  • Read every module once, end to end
  • Proofread spelling and grammar
  • Export the final PDF and any extras
  • Download every file yourself and open it
  • Keep a backup outside the shop that sells it

Step 4

Website

One page, one promise, one button.

  • Publish the landing page on your domain
  • Check the promise is clear within ten seconds
  • Confirm the price matches everywhere
  • Open the page on a real phone
  • Make the thank you page explain what happens next
  • Buy your own product from click to delivery

Step 5

Payments

Test with real money once. It is the cheapest insurance you will buy.

  • Connect Stripe to your checkout
  • Complete identity and payout verification
  • Run one successful test payment
  • Test a declined card and read the message a customer sees
  • Confirm the payout reaches your bank account

Step 6

Email

If delivery lands in spam, you did not launch. You created a support queue.

  • Set SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your domain
  • Load and test the welcome email
  • Confirm the order confirmation sends automatically
  • Confirm the product arrives without you doing anything
  • Open every email on desktop and on mobile
  • Name the support inbox you read, and your reply time

Step 7

Marketing

Traffic without measurement is a donation.

  • Install analytics and watch a purchase event fire
  • Verify Meta Business Manager and install the pixel
  • Verify your Google Ads account and conversion tag
  • Load your Facebook and Google ads
  • Post your first announcement
  • Name ten people you will ask personally
  • Ask early buyers for a testimonial once they see results

Final launch check

  1. 1Does my product solve one clear problem?
  2. 2Is the transformation obvious within ten seconds?
  3. 3Can someone understand the offer without extra explanation?
  4. 4Would I confidently recommend this to a friend?
  5. 5Is buying easier than leaving the page?

Five times yes means you are ready. The biggest mistake is not launching something imperfect. It is never launching at all.

Questions people ask first

What is a digital product?
Anything that can be sold and delivered online: an eBook, template, guide, prompt library, spreadsheet, workshop, Notion workspace, calculator or online course.
Do I need to be an expert?
No. You need to know more than the people you help. If you have solved a problem several times, you already hold knowledge others will pay for.
What makes a digital product successful?
It solves one specific problem for one specific audience and creates a clear transformation.
How do I know if people will buy it?
Validate before you build. Look for existing demand, recurring questions, competitors and problems people are actively trying to solve.
Should I create a course or an eBook?
Choose the format that gets your customer to the result with the least effort. Fastest result wins.
Can AI create my digital product?
AI can structure your knowledge, write content and produce marketing assets. The expertise and the judgement still come from you.
How much should I charge?
Price the transformation, not the hours. A product that saves someone thousands is not worth the time it took to make.
Do I need a large audience?
No. Digital products sell through search, paid ads, referrals, partnerships and marketplaces. An audience helps, it is not a requirement.
How long does it take to build a digital product?
With a structured process and AI assistance, many creators go from idea to launch ready in about one hour. Complexity changes the number.
What is the biggest beginner mistake?
Building first and validating later. Confirm a real opportunity exists before you invest weeks in production.
Can I improve the product after launching?
You should. The best digital products evolve on customer feedback and real usage.
